We have been so tremendously tired and in the midst of total chaos since we got home late Thursday night! We have not even unpacked one of our suitcases yet! We have been trying to catch up on rest (not easy but our comfortable bed is sure refreshing!) and provide security, love and attention to the children in their new environment. The change to our new casa has been exciting for them but also very unnerving too - so we are trying to be understanding and patient while we wade through many behavior issues we have not dealt with since our beginning time together. Thursday night when we got home and Friday morning were really rough and thankfully we are seeing improvement as time progresses.
Today was much better than yesterday and we are starting to feel a little more “normal.” We have had more smiles and laughter and “I love you’s/te amo’s” and hugs and kisses. The kids had a blast playing with toys today. Our mealtimes together have been sweet - relaxed and a time where they seem to really open up and talk and show affection towards us. The kids are really precious to us and we are so glad we get to be their parents! It is really special to watch each of them with their different little personalities and to be able to nurture them and love them.
We are so very thankful for dear friends who packed our fridge and countertop with food and to others who have been bringing meals to eat. To say that this is such a blessing and help to our family is an absolute understatement! These meals and food provided are helping give us time to adjust and focus our limited energy and time on the children and their needs. It is also giving Karl and me a few precious moments to talk and strategize. Just clearing the table and putting dishes in the dishwasher has become a feat in and of itself, let alone any other chores right now so we incredibly thankful for these provisions.
We got out of the house today for a while on a shopping trip to Wally World. We had a list of things we needed from diapers to cups/silverware for kids to toiletries to gloves (they didn’t have any!) The trip went pretty well considering the kids had not had a nap and we had a long list and two carts! We got home and the kids rested before dinner.
Tonight, Karl and I have been working through dishes, some laundry, about 900 pounds of mail and trying to get some of the house in order.
Tomorrow we are so excited to be going back to worship with our church family! We got the kids down to bed and even have their outfits lined up so hopefully we won’t have any problem getting us all out of here on time.
We hope to post another update again as soon as possible!

Welcome home!! Glad things are settling down a bit. I am sure it has been very overwhelming for the kids. And it sounds like you have a great support system there too. Congratulations again & I know you are happy to be home.
Welcome Home Familia Armstrong! Praying for your family as you adjust to life back at home.
Welcome home!!! We can't wait to see you guys after you are settled in. We'll continue to pray that you'll settle into a new family routine.

Welcome home!!!
WELCOME HOME! Please do keep us posted (as much as is possible) as your lives transition to your new normal. You all remain in our prayers.
Peace and blessings!

So glad to hear you made it home!!! I'm sure the kids will adjust just fine with the new home and family. Can't wait to see pics!!! You guys will do great as parents, and have much to look forward to as God continues to infiltrate the lives of these children thru you and your family. He will equip you with everything you need, and in just a few months you will look back and be even more amazed at what the Lord has done! Children are really resilient and quick learners, and as you impart all those godly character traits they will begin to grow into little women and man of God--and yeah, all that comes with challenges, BUT YOU and KARL are a POWERHOUSE!!!! God is with YOU! It was so fun to watch from cyberspace as your family united. Your story reminded me of many things we had to deal with, and it is often difficult for people outside of the adoption community to understand at times, so if you ever wanna talk or share stories, "you got my e--" Congrats, and glad your home!!!
Welcome home! It is so good to hear you guys got home safely and are starting to adjust to the changes. We will continue to pray for great bonding times and rest when it is needed! Congrats Mami and Papi!!!!

Welcome home! I will be thinking of you and praying for you these next few weeks! Coming home, at first, can be quite surreal! I remember we were just aching to hang out with our friends and introduce them to our kids! There's a lot of busyness and craziness these first few weeks home as you all settle in . . . hang in there!
Glad you are back in the USA. Sending our love,
janine
Congratulations on your homecoming. I think the mail is the worst. Everything else is hard work, but having your children home lightens the load of every chore.
Welcome home! You made it! No more Gov't Strikes and Temporary Homes to deal with! Now you can settle in to 'normalcy' (whatever that means!) I'm sure the comfort of Home will be good for you all after that big adventure! Looking forward to meeting the new Armstrongs when we visit next!
My calendar reads: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Cor. 15:58 KJV... also a little footnote, "What I can do, plus what God can do, equals enough."
I have been trying to encourage you to keep focused on the Lord's help moment by moment, and to keep focused that you have exactly what you need from Him to work with the children.. I personally was reminded and encouraged by this scripture and message myself... & for you and this whole family!
Meanwhile, now I am a phone call away, and as most everyone knows, mothers love to share their knowledge/wisdom/experience if you have questions or comments! :-)
I am very happy you are home and will continue to pray for all of you!
Love, Mom
Julie,
It was wonderful to meet you this morning at the play date. Your children are so precious!
Praying for your family as you continue to settle into your routine!
