The local news here in Cali has not been reporting much at all about the court situation. The national news finally reported the story tonight on TV and said something to the effect that Colombian President Uribe has stated that what is happening is illegal and has told the Judges in Cali that they must report back to work tomorrow or lose their jobs. So, we are hoping that they will report back to work as the second scenario does not sound like a very good one as far as our situation is concerned!
We have tried not to think a lot/dwell on the court situation. Our Swiss friends here sent out a prayer SOS and suggested we should too - so we did! We are praying about it and are so thankful that so many of you are too!
Today we went to a nice mall and walked around with the kids. It was great to get out of the house together. The kids loved it! They had a great time. We would like to do that kind of outing again - there are supposed to be at least 3 really nice malls that have pretty fountains, nice plants, and are open-air so you can enjoy the sunshine and breeze - if there is one! Tomorrow, maybe we will go to a museum if all goes well.
Our kids love Barney! They sing the song in Spanish a lot so Karl pulled up the Barney website so they could enjoy the song in both Spanish and English! They wanted it played over & over and the girls sang along, clapped, even danced to it. It was very cute. They also enjoyed coloring again today. Our friend, Beth, sent a coloring book with airplanes/airport pictures along with us and the kids love it! They are so excited about coloring the airplane pictures and about us flying to Estados Unidos together - they talk about it over and over. It is really sweet.

Glad you could have a fun day together. It was snowing all day here and church was cancelled tonight. We'd love for you to be back soon and playing in some of this snow. I wonder what the kids will think of that? :)
Hey guys, family is praying for the legal system to get back in business there! Great to hear about the malls and the fun the kids are having with you 2! Keep your chins up (looking upward to heaven!).. Oh yes, I had to chuckle about the kids liking Barney - I remember the day when little Julie preferred Sesame Street buddies OVER Barney, and was adamant about not liking Barney... heehhhe (just a flashback, I'm okay) :-) Love Mom
We are praying that the courts will open again today and your adoption will be processed quickly so that you can come home b/f the snow melts : ). Your kids will love the beautiful white snow!

Still praying, guys! The Barney "Clean Up" song will come in handy for years to come, even when the show is no longer a favorite. Looking forward to having all 5 of you home soon. -BJPhillips
So cute! My Juancho LOVES Barney, too! It's difficult to find Barney stuff in the U.S., but I was able to get some wipes down here in Mexico! Both my boys enjoy watching Barney on PBS and Scott put some songs on their iPod.

Been checking often and praying for good news.
We are praying that the courts will open soon, or that the Lord has something better for your family during this wait. We know He will not let this be wasted time. Enjoy your time together without the world rushing by - that will come when you get here!!

Just checking in. Be certain that I am praying, praying, praying for the court situation to resolve. I can tell you there are a lot of things I miss about my kids being toddlers, but I am happy to say Barney is not one of them! He and the Telatubbies kept me up at night wondering if I was damaging my kids forever! I'm happy to report so far not therapy has been necessary! I think of you often! Monica
