LFA Day 29 - Still Wearing Shorts (& Sweating)!

Yesterday, Karl signed the Final Decree Document. It was quick and very informal. We were all excited to post an update last night and were totally bummed when the internet connection was D-O-W-N! Ugh!

Today has been pretty good. We woke up and I (J) took the kids with Carmenca to the mall to get passport photos of the kids and a couple other items. Karl stayed "home" to work on packing all of our stuff into our many suitcases so that we will be ready to go early tomorrow morning.

Right now we are eagerly waiting to hear if our Lawyer has successfully obtained the children's new birth certificates from their original hometown (far, far away.) Last night when we talked to her she was hoping that she would come back to Cali with all three . . . We are really hoping she does too! Since we don't know for absolute sure that we are going to Bogota tomorrow, we haven't been able to make reservations for the flight yet but thankfully do have reservations for a deluxe B&B.

Right now, our plan (which all hinges on getting these corrected birth certificates) is that we will go to get the kids' passports at 7:30 a.m. (ugh - to avoid massive crowds) which will probably take a couple of hours. Then we would fly out a.s.a.p. some time in the afternoon with the goal of getting the kids' U.S. Embassy physicals completed in Bogota before the end of the business day. Then, we would settle into our lovely new B&B and relax together. Unfortunately, the U.S. Embassy does not issue adoption visas on Fridays so we will have to wait until Monday to proceed with the remainder of our to-do's. Our end goal would then be to fly home together next weekend so we will see if that works out or not with timing getting these final errands done and also flight availability since we have to change flights . . . Thanks for praying!

We will update as soon as we hear from the Lawyer and are able to get to the computer!!!

Great to hear all of this news! We will be praying for God's perfect timing in all of these last details! This has been a long journey for all of you but there is an end in sight. YEAH! The adoption ministry committee meets tonight-we will be lifting these details in prayer. And we are certain that the Lord will hear our petitions.

Our love to you all.

So glad you were able to update. I was getting ready to organize a SEAL team to rescue you! Ditto Amy's comment about praying for you tonight. I'm sure it will be a sweet time of prayer and a wonderful way to kick off the Open Hearts Open Homes meeting! I'm praying that all these God sized details fall into place for you. Is Bogota bug free:)?? Keep us in the loop as much as you are able. We are all on pins and needles and addicted to your blog. You are lucky we don't all write comments everytime we check in or you wouldn't have time to get that adoption done! Love you all. Monica

I agree that the blog is so helpful & interesting! I am s-o-o excited to see this progress - Thank you for praying for our little family - I just bought a Compu Kidz Bilingual toy-type laptop which plans music, spells, translates words, math, and lastly, 'games', if anyone has time! It will keep me busy until they all arrive home! ;-)Congratulations & lots of prayers for the rest of this adventure to go as smoothly and safe as possible! Much love, Mom

Congratulations to you on your Sentencia! Your blog was linked to another I look at.
Enjoy every moment of your final days with your precious 3 in their homeland.

Awesome! We are praying for the early flight, the birth certificates, and nice relief...hope you get the refugio! They have good food, place for the kids, and internet, and the bugs aren't so bad, either!!! Take care, Armstrongs! God is shining down on you all!
