Papi: Out Of Town

My heart sank when I heard the dreaded words: "I have to stay out of town two nights for work." Early in the morning Karl pulled out to drive a few hours away for a work assignment. This meant just me and the three kids all day and all night and then again the next day and then again the following day. Oh no! A sweet friend agreed to come over at 6 pm to have dinner with us and help me corral the kids for bedtime but that was still a lot of hours to do sola. I hobbled around the house with my "shoe" strapped to my bad foot minus the wrap that I was instructed to remove, so it was quite uncomfortable in addition to everything else. We had a pretty rough start in the morning and a host of problem behaviors that popped up throughout the day - problems that were pesky and frustrating but manageable. Thankfully the day overall went fairly well compared to days in the past! Not too bad for it being the first day as just the four of us together in a long time!

Karl called while we were eating dinner and gave us the good news that he finished earlier than expected and would be home the next day after all! Yeah!

Here are some sweet photos from some of our highlights of our day together. I walked into the room so happy (and relieved!) that they were playing so peacefully together and found them covered in dolly clothes! First photo from bottom to top: Andres, Anji, Shrek/Anji's "Esposo," and although from this picture it looks a little like Claudia, it is actually Anji's birthday doll named Daniela (adopted from Colombia of course!)

"SHHHHHHHH! We are sleeping!"

"Us too!"

Loaded to the hilt & ready to go!

You have three very adorable children. Hard to believe with those sweet smiles that they would ever cause you any trouble. :)

Glad to hear Karl gets to come early!

It's always a little bit scary to realize there is quiet and then know you need to go check and see what's going on. :) Thankfully it's usually something good. But where do they come up with their ideas?
Enjoy the pictures.

Hello Armstrong Family,
Just checking i to see how all is going. We had a great time in St. Louis and are already looking forward to next year. Our kids loved your kids!
How is your foot doing. I see that you are still hobbling around. Sorry to hear that.
We will pray that complete recovery comes soon!
