Since our last post, it has been quite a week! Karl went away for his friend's wedding over the weekend and my Mom came and stayed with me and the kids. It went pretty smoothly but was very exhausting and we missed him very much. A very special treat was that Karl didn't work on Monday and he took us out for shopping and lunch and when Anji got home he took us out to a nice park and then we brought home pizza for dinner. It was delightful for all of us!
It was so wonderful to have my Mom here - I can not express how very helpful and fun and energizing she was for all of us. The kids loved spending time with her - she sang silly songs (even doing renditions of Junior Asparagus songs upon request!) to them and played with them and taught them things and made lots of special memories and even gave them sweet little gifts. And she helped me a TON. She is energetic, has great ideas, is very smart, knows how to do everything, has spunk and is so pleasant to be around! I am so thankful and miss her a lot already.
We just ended Anji's third week of school! Anji really enjoys school & seems to be learning a lot! She brings home a ton of neat papers! We are so thankful for this special program where she can learn in Spanish.
The BIG NEWS on our home front is that we were just notified yesterday that Claudia has been accepted into the pre-K bilingual program at the same school as Anji! She will start Monday (!) and will be in the summer school program for just 3 weeks - a good introduction for her. We are very excited and trying to get things in order for her to start her first day of school on Monday. Wow! This will now mean waking two little girls up and getting them ready at 6 am for the bus to pick them up at 7 am! It was going pretty smoothly getting Anji ready, but I can foresee some challenges as Claudia is not as much of a "morning person" (join the club!) and with more clothes to put on, more hair to do, more teeth to brush, etc. . . . it's double everything! Anyway, I will take Claudia in on Monday for registration and get her settled into her class and (probably come home bawling!) then Claudia will take the bus home with Anji in the afternoon. She's excited and we are too! It's a great opportunity!

Our little Andres is talking a lot lately! It is really great to hear him repeating things we say and enjoying verbalizing! His favorite thing to say the past couple of days is (& so sweet to hear), "Mama, I love you - TOO!" He has been very happy and has a heart-warming smile and loves being a special part of our family.
This weekend we are going to lay low and just enjoy some time together - just the five of us - since we missed out last weekend on time with Papi and then throughout the week we were busy with other things. We are all very tired too so rest is important! Next week will be a total whirlwind so hopefully we can prepare this weekend for all of the upcoming activities & events!

Whhheew! You guys experience so much in fast forward. Sending two off to school already ... wow! I could cry thinking about it. Enjoy your 1-on-1 time with Andres.
How awesome that things are just moving right along for your family. I so wish we had a bilingual school around our area for our children. What a wonderful service! You are blessed! Can't wait to her how Claudia's day goes and how it feels to be down to one child during the day. Best wishes for a smooth Monday morning.

We'll be praying for you upcoming week. Your life is so full, many, many blessing from the Lord!
That is awesome about the bilingual programs for the girls. I have been trying to find similar opportunities for Mateo. I imagine it will be tough to send both of them off to school, probably more emotionally than physically, but still what a great opportunity.
Thanks for the compliments! I had a great time and can hardly wait to return!
Love you, get better!
