Some Updates

Karl said I had to report that the kids were awesome at the bank...my first appointment alone was for 2 hours and then when Karl got back into town we had to go back to review paperwork and sign for our new mortgage to be processed! That was a total of three hours and they were so quiet and content that we hardly knew they were there. They have earned quite a positive reputation at the bank! We were so thankful to be able to focus and not have to deal with bad behavior - what a blessing!

The home inspection on our "old" home went well. The inspector peeved us with some of his items that were bogus but we got over the shock and made plans accordingly. A lot of his items seemed over-dramatic. Like that our clothes chute needed child-proofing - but the doorknob cover was sitting there. He had a lot of inaccuracies that bugged us too including that we had vinyl tile and an attic fan... This was one of the items on his report: "Ceiling fan inoperative, A licensed electrician is recommended to evaluate and estimate repairs." Unfortunately, he did not see the remote control to the fan that was set aside. Anyway, thankfully, we just have a couple of minor items that need addressed/repaired and the buyer will be happy - so we are happy too!

Yesterday we got library cards at our new library and checked out a bunch of nice books for the kids and some english/spanish videos!

We enrolled Anji in a local elementary. Today was her first day and she was so excited! I think it will be really good for her.

Today is the big day for the inspections on our "new" house - a whole house inspection and a termite inspection. Pretty exciting! Karl and I will be there and hopefully learn a lot. The seller will hopefully NOT be there as I got gutsy and called our realtor and asked her to communicate that we didn't want them there!

I am getting more and more excited as we get closer. It all seemed too good to be true that our house would "sell" that quickly and that we would be able to buy a new one so soon. But it looks like casa blanca really is going to be purchased by another family and that our family will have a new home. Wow! Just 29 days until we move into our new house!!!!!!!! Thank you, Lord, for all of your generous provisions!!!!!!!!
